Blushing Bombshell is one of the Amanda Forrest Collection colors that The Fat Paint Company recently launched. It is a bold, rich, pink that delivers a huge impact in a room. When white, beige, and grey is too boring, why not take a risk with one of the trendiest design colors?
Blushing Bombshell transforms a broken table into chic design.
This black table was thrown in a garbage pile in our warehouse, bound for the dumpster the next day. Our warehouse handyman, Steven, saw the table and rescued it. A little TLC and it was actually worth painting.
Steven does a lot of the paint projects in our shop. He’s great to work with because he’s not afraid to take risks on colors or combinations. This is one of my favorite transformations though, simply because the color is so different and so bold.
FAT is a chalk like paint and requires little to no prep work. Simply open the can and start painting! It’s as easy as that. I find two coats are usually best. Afterwards, I like to add two coats of Top Coat to protect the furniture. If it’s an item that won’t get a lot of use, often I’ll go one of the three wax varieties. I love the smooth finish, but for a durable surface, I find that Top Coat is best.
It’s been a total chalk paint transformation
This sad little table, pulled from the garbage pile has seen a lot in its long life. Now it’s been given a FAT paint makeover and is ready for an entirely new life of luxury. After all, it now feels like a piece of luxury furniture.
Blushing Bombshell in it’s new location is just the perfect pop of color in a monochromatic grey world. It’s why it’s such a trendy new color. Just remember that in order for a strong color like this to work in a room, it needs to be represented three time. As you can see in the photo above, it is present in coffee table, then a pillow on this side of the room, and the far side of the room. While it is harder to see, it’s also represented in a tray on the dining table.
